I really enjoyed last night. I don't know what the heck the judges were watching/listening to, but I thought it was awesome. That may be just because I love Dolly, though. I think I might have to like David Cook. "Little Sparrow" is one of my favorite Dolly songs, and he did an awesome job on it. I really wished Brooke wouldn't have done Jolene (mainly because I don't like the song very much) but she did a good job of it. WHAT was KLC thinking?? "Coat of Many Colors"?? All those Dolly songs and she picked that one?? Please, for the love of God, America, SEND HER HOME!!! I cannot get over how much I loved Carly's version of "Here You Come Again" which is probably my favorite Dolly song, maybe tied with "Why'd You Come in here Lookin' Like That" (kidding, but I love that song). It was amazing...I loved it all slowed down and stripped like that...I'll probably buy it. And I've bought no one's thus far. I also loved Michael Johns' "It's All Wrong But It's All Right." And I hated her voice, but I liked Ramiele's song choice..."Do I Ever Cross Your Mind."
If you're a fan of music, especially that of the folky persuasion, I encourage you to try out "Just Because I'm a Woman," which is a collection of women now doing Dolly's songs. It is wonderful!
I hope KLC goes home tonight. Or Ramiele. Anybody but Carly, Jason, and David C. And Brooke. And little David A.

I'm glad you re-retracted. :) Of course, I love me some David Cook. They did say to begin with last week that it was someone else's song and last night he gave props to all the people whose arrangements he'd used. But, I guess using other people's arrangements doesn't bother me because it shows a broader range of musical knowledge. And I like that. It also seems to me that if we're going to get bothered by them using someone else's arrangement, we should really just expect them to write their own songs to begin with. Any song they do was originally written by someone else. But I mean, I don't really have an opinion or anything. :)
I thought the show was good, too. Simon was definitely on crack. I wish that some of the other songs- like "9 to 5" and "Why'd You Come in Here" had gotten sung. Also "Islands in the Stream!" Seriously! They'll probably do those tonight on the results show. Hopefully, anyway!
